BOOK SUMMARY
Sidney Halston returns to steamy Tarpon
Springs, Florida, where a hell-raising bad boy prepares to get down and dirty
for the woman he loves.
How could she have been so stupid? When
Jessica Cross decides to give her violently jealous boyfriend—the otherwise
influential and charming Dennis Stavros—a second chance, she very nearly
becomes a statistic. After weeks of healing from a broken rib and collapsed lung,
and with Dennis behind bars, Jessica finally feels ready to come out of hiding.
But will she ever be able to take a chance on love again with someone new?
Mixed martial arts fighter Slade Martin
knows he has a bad reputation. Hell, he's probably earned it. So it won’t be
easy to convince beautiful, vulnerable Jessica that she can trust him—that from
the moment she walked into his life, she’s been the only one he’s wanted.
Powerful and confident, Slade knows he can honor his vow to protect Jessica body
and soul. Winning her heart will be another matter . . . but a woman like
Jessica is worth the fight.

EXCERPT
Loudly she pointed
and shouted, “You!” Everyone turned to look at her. She stood up and stalked
toward Slade. She wobbled slightly, she wasn’t too graceful on her heels and
Slade cringed thinking she was one step away from a broken ankle. He didn’t
know whether to carry her or shake her. So he opted to just stand still. She
looked sexy as hell, determined, mad, and unfulfilled. “You ruined my date!”
She poked her cute pink fingernail at his chest.
“Me?” He smirked,
holding his hands out in surrender.
“Yes, you.”
Everyone at the bar was listening to her loud accusation.
“Lady, I don’t know
what you’re talking about.” He leaned down, aimed the stick at the white ball
and completely missed. When he stood up, she was an inch from his face.
“You know exactly
what you did.” She leaned in. The smell of whiskey and her familiar perfume
assaulted his senses. His eyes closed as he took it all in. She whispered so
quietly in his ear that he thought he’d heard wrong. “And you’re going to
finish it.” His eyes snapped open.
Before he had a
chance to react, she ripped the pool stick from his hand, leaned down, and hit
the rest of the balls into the pockets. It took her only two moves. “You suck
at pool,” she said, then she walked away.
No one spoke and
Slade wasn’t sure what to do. He’d never been so unsure about a woman before,
but at the same time he was sure of exactly what it was he wanted to do. And what he wanted to do was Jessica.
“Yo, if you’re not
going to go after her, I will. She’s hot.” Travis said.
“Make a move and
I’ll kick your ass all the way back to Texas.” Slade dropped the pool stick and
ran toward the door hoping she hadn’t already left.
He walked a few
steps away from the bar looking around for her. It took him exactly two minutes
to find her leaning against the wall in the alley between the bar and a small
pet store.
“Took you long
enough.” She said in a low raspy voice as her eyes firmly held his.
CAT'S REVIEW
"Full Contact" by Sidney Halston. This is a GREAT story! I couldn't put it down. Who would not fall in love with Slade - he's tall, sexy and so strong and a bit of a bad boy too - but deep down a big teddy bear - any girl's dream guy, especially one that needs protecting. I liked Jessica too. She's kind and recognizes those that are important and not fake, she's trying to start her life and live the way she wants, not how her parents or ex want her too. Slade is so supportive of her she can't help but fall in love. Slade and Jessica were so much fun - they really enjoyed their time together. This story had me on the edge quite a bit - never knew when the bad guy would pop in. This is one that I would highly recommend - it's got love and romance, suspense and some heartbreak as well. When a book has me smiling, yelling to stop the bad guy and crying - it's a winner in my book. Don't miss this one! (received copy from NetGalley for honest review)
