CAT'S REVIEW
I was very excited to have the opportunity to read and review "Falling For Her Enemy" by Victoria James.  I read book one of the series ("Falling for the PI") and I adored that one so I was very hopeful with book two.  And, I was not disappointed!  Ms. James has successfully written the next book of the series with the same level of emotions and feelings that were experienced in her previous work.  Our main characters - Alex and Hayden - are brought together in what could be (and are) trying circumstances.  Alex, she's a real sweetie. She works hard to give her adopted daughter a great life - she's loving and kind yet strong too.  I really liked and related to her.  Hayden was a surprise - he's rich but is still down to earth. And, of course, he's sexy as sin!  I enjoyed the two of them together.  Watching them try to fight the attraction because they didn't believe it should be right was fun.  I adored how Hayden treated Cassy and she's a real pip too - brought a lot of smiles to my face with her "big" vocabulary words!  Ms. James made me smile, made me cry and made me hope.  Can't ask for more in a story.  I look forward to Cara's story next!  Note:  I don't believe it's necessary to read Book One to enjoy this one, however, I would recommend it if you enjoy stories that capture your heart!(received copy from NetGalley for honest review)

KISSING HER CRUSH
Sugar City #2
Ophelia London
Releasing Nov 9th, 2015
Entangled: Bliss

He’s sweet trouble...

Natalie Holden wants three things: To be the best chocolate chemist in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to prove her chocolate recipe can help teenage depression, and to get over gorgeous Luke Elliott, the guy she’s had a crush on since birth. Unfortunately, he’s the microbiologist set to debunk her chocolate study. And, of course, he looks more delicious than ever!

Luke Elliott is still bitter over his divorce. Work is his passion now, and landing a huge promotion is just what he needs. What he doesn’t need is a crackpot trying to prove that chocolate cures depression. The last thing he expects is for the crackpot to be Natalie Holden—his “what if” girl from high school—or that she’d still tempt the hell out of him.

They may not see eye-to-eye on her project, but they can’t deny the explosive chemistry that keeps pulling them together. Even when it risks their jobs and the very different futures they both want…

Victoria James is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance.
Victoria always knew she wanted to be a writer and in grade five, she penned her first story, bound it (with staples and a cardboard cover) and did all the illustrations herself. Luckily, this book will never see the light of day again.

In high school she fell in love with historical romance and then contemporary romance. After graduating University with an English Literature degree, Victoria pursued a degree in Interior Design and then opened her own business. After her first child, Victoria knew it was time to fulfill her dream of writing romantic fiction.

Victoria is a hopeless romantic who is living her dream, penning happily-ever-after's for her characters in between managing kids and the family business. Writing on a laptop in the middle of the country in a rambling old Victorian house would be ideal, but she's quite content living in suburbia with her husband, their two young children, and very bad cat.

I'LL BE THERE
Montgomery Brother's #6
Samantha Chase
Releasing Dec 1st, 2015

Book #6 in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Samantha Chase's popular Montgomery series

This Montgomery Has a Head for Business

Working for Zach Montgomery is challenging on many levels-coming from a wealthy and powerful family, he lives by his own rules and doesn't answer to anyone. But Gabriella Martine has no intention of backing down. She's used to handling stubborn men, and it doesn't hurt that Zach is smart, charismatic...and gorgeous.

And a Heart for Adventure

Zach's perfect world is turned upside down when a climbing accident leaves him broken, angry, and maddeningly dependent. In his slow quest for recovery, Gabriella is always there to help...but as Zach comes to see his beautiful assistant in a new light, he is forced to re-evaluate what it really means to be a man worthy of Gabriella's love.

Pre-Order Today

Shock.
Then more shock.
And then…aah…Gabriella melted into Zach. After all they had been through together, after everything they had talked about tonight, this was so not the way she envisioned their time together ending.
But she was completely on board with it.
For years she had dreamed about what it would be like for Zach Montgomery to kiss her and now that he was, she needed to stop talking to herself and start enjoying it!
Zach must have realized she was on board because his second crutch fell to the floor as his arms banded around her waist. Everything inside Gabriella melted at the heated contact. He was hard where she was soft and they just…fit. Her hands tentatively stroked their way up his muscular arms and then paused on his shoulders. It felt…naughty…to be touching her boss like this.
Wait…not her boss. Zach. She was touching Zach. Get your head out of the office, girl!
A low hum emanated from Zach and she let her hands slowly glide up the strong column of his throat—and stopped and lingered on his now clean-shaven jaw—and up into his hair. It was longer than he’d ever worn it but it was thick and silky and her fingers just sort of gently grasped and tugged to hold him to her.
If possible, Zach moved in even closer and Gabriella was thoroughly pressed from head to toe between him and the wall. His lips were devouring her but his arms stayed as they were—tightly banded and holding her close as if he was afraid she’d get away.
Not likely.
Right now, there wasn’t another place on the planet she wanted to be. Which was a bit ironic considering that less than a minute ago she wanted to be anyplace but here! Funny how fast things could change.
She struggled between needing to take a breath and never letting Zach’s lips leave hers again. As if reading her mind, he began to trail kisses along her cheek and her jaw. He nipped at her earlobe and then stopped to simply inhale her.
“Do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted to do this?” he growled lowly against her ear.
“Hopefully as long as I’ve wanted you to,” she openly admitted as she rubbed herself against him.
He chuckled softly. “The first time you walked through my door, I wanted to touch you. Kiss you.” His tongue lightly traveled down the side of her neck to her collarbone. “Make love to you.”
Gabriella trembled at his words. How was it possible she didn’t notice that? How had he kept it a secret for so long? And why? It was on the tip of her tongue to ask him, but he raised his head and gave her a very sexy grin before reclaiming her lips. There was no shock this time, just anticipation. Zach’s admission had pretty much done it all for her, she was putty in his hands.
She wanted to move, to get to a place where her back wasn’t pressed against a wall. But again, she didn’t want to stop what Zach was doing long enough to even say anything. Her nails raked his scalp and she felt the growl vibrate through him. She pushed her breasts more firmly against him, and felt his erection nudge her belly.
The wall was just fine.

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.
When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.

It was late when Hacon finally sought his bed, a sheepskin laid before the fire. Although he had not told Jennet outright that they would share that bed, he saw no surprise on her face, only annoyance, when he gestured for her to lie down. At least she showed no fear, he told himself as he unwrapped the thongs holding his cuarans in place and removed the rawhide boots. He was eager to feel her slender body curled up against him. Stripping down to his braies, he cynically eyed the sleeping child she had set between them.
“That game willnae work, lass,” he said, and decided her look of puzzled innocence was very well feigned.
“And what game is that, Sir Gillard?” She had not held out much hope of success in using the baby to keep him at a distance but was still annoyed that her ruse had failed so completely.
“Using this innocent bairn to keep me away. Put him on the other side of you.”
“Then he would be between me and the fire. That would be too dangerous.”
“Ah, is that the difficulty? Weel, ’tis easily solved. We will just change places. Slide over, lass.”
She inwardly cursed as she did as he commanded. Then the fear she had more or less kept at bay began to break the bonds she had placed upon it. She concentrated harder on quelling it. There was no way she could fight him. Not allowing him to see her fear was her only hope of retaining some shred of pride.
Closing her eyes tightly, she tried not to look at him. To her great self-disgust and consternation the man’s image was already etched clearly in her mind. It was impossible to understand, but she felt a hint of fascination mingled with her fear.
He was far too easy to look at, too pleasing to the eye. When he had started to take his clothes off, she should have looked away, but she had not been able to. He was all lean, hard muscle. A light triangle of blond curls, a shade darker than his pale hair, adorned his smooth, broad chest. It tapered into a thin line which disappeared into the top of his linen loincloth. His legs, lightly coated with hair, were long, attractively muscular, and excellently formed. His skin was a light golden tone, not as pale as she would have guessed. He was also remarkably free of the scars that men of battle tended to collect. There was one on his right thigh and one over the left half of his rib cage, but neither was very big or ugly.
A flaw would have been helpful, she thought as she felt him settle down beside her. She should be disgusted by the thought of lying with him, yet she was not, not really. A perverse part of her whispered that if rape was unavoidable, at least her abuser was not ugly or still carrying the stench of battle. It hinted an acceptance of her fate that chilled her.

She supposed the fact that he had not yet raped her, had not even struck her, made the threat too tenuous to seem real. It could be the only explanation for why she found herself wondering what Hacon would be like as a lover. She knew few women who got the chance to hold such a fine-looking man in their arms. She would not be a woman if she did not at least ponder what it would feel like. However, such complacency and curiosity could prove very dangerous in her situation. The man did not offer lovemaking but rape, not desire but defilement. She must not forget that.

CAT'S REVIEW

"Conqueror's Kiss" by Hannah Howell.  This story tells the tale of Jennet and Hacon.  From the start, I liked Jennet.  She is feisty yet realistic and accepts her fate, but not without a bit of fight.  Hacon took a while longer to like - he was a real brute.  However, as time passes, he won me over.  The two together were enjoyable and watching their relationship grow and expand was enjoyable too.   The story itself flows and Ms. Howell successfully brought me back in time to experience the adventures of our Hero and heroine.  The readers live the war through the eyes of Jennet - feeling the feelings of anguish and hurt and fear, as well as the love and joy when you find the one.  I am a fan of Ms. Howell's, enjoying many of her works in the past and this is another one that is added to that list.  (received copy from NetGalley for honest review).

BOOK SUMMARY
In this erotically charged novella Kat Hardee becomes involved in the bet of her lifetime…

Being young, divorced, broke and in college, has made Kat leery of putting herself in the path of the next great guy. But she’s crushed on her neighbor, Taye Connors, since he moved in and would love nothing more than to catch his eye.

But her man-hungry girlfriend has also suddenly set her sights on him.

Rather than lose her chance with quiet, nerdy Taye, Kat accepts the challenge to get him naked. This weekend!

To save him from her predatory friend, shy and skittish Kat must seduce the one and only man she’s interested in.

Taye Connors wants to make up for lost time with his sweet next-door neighbor.  He’s a man who takes his time and wants nothing more than a real and loving relationship. In fact, he insists on it.

But when innocent Kat turns into a vixen who sells sex toys wearing too-hot-handle thigh high stockings, he has to wonder what he’s in for: A sex kitten or his one true soulmate.

After a series of missteps and miscommunication, Kat and Taye come to terms with who they really are and what they want for themselves and each other.

EXCERPT
Taye climbed out of his SUV and headed to the door of his town house, briefcase in hand. He bent and picked up a package left on his front step. Wrapped in cozy brown cords, he had a great butt, even from this distance, and Kat found several ways a day to see it. From her back upstairs window she’d watch him put out bird seed. Through his tiny kitchen window she’d catch glimpses of him making dinner.

“He’s not a nerd,” Kat said in his defense. “I’m willing to bet under that tweed jacket is a lot of man.”

“You think?” Celia assessed him with her man-hungry eyes.

Kat shifted. A second mistake. Taye’s physique was not up for discussion, not with Celia. She was a shark when it came to getting what she wanted.

CAT'S REVIEW
"Thigh High" by Bonnie Edwards - this is a fun, light story that I enjoyed reading.  Our main characters -Kat and Taye - were terrific together.  I enjoyed how shy Kat was but how far out of the box she went just to entice Taye.  And Taye is so sweet - I just wanted to hug him! It was fun to see the two interact, both yearning for more but a bit unsure of how to proceed to get it.   Yes, there is sex! And Ms. Edwards writes a great sex scene! But there is more to it too.  Ms. Edwards has successfully written a story that, while erotica, is also romance and love.  It's a fast and quick read that moves at a good pace and encompasses a lot, for a novella.  Good job Ms. Edwards!   (received copy for honest review)
