"Make Me Stay" by Sidney Halston is one heck of a ride. This story is filled with love, hate, romance, anger, suspense, twists - pretty much everything. I couldn't put it down! Ms. Halston does an incredible job with the background of Matt and April's story - yes, it's a time jump but one that is necessary. It also gives the reader some more insight into Nico, if you read "Pull Me Close" (and if not, what are you waiting for!!) My heart hurt for both of these characters. Their journey is certainly not an easy one and I found myself yelling at both Matt and April and then I was crying for them. I liked Matt and I liked April. Even as frustrated as I found myself with their situation at times and I found that Matt was being a jerk or was wishing that April would make a different choice, I still really, really liked them. Ms. Halston certainly did a wonderful job of taking my heart and inserting it right in the middle of this story. The story shows us the sacrifices those that work undercover have to make in order to help keep us safe. "Make Me Stay" is a story I highly recommend (Received ARC for honest review)

Kurt stopped cold. She wasn’t a rail-thin model; nor was she overly plump. Beneath the tank tops and cutoffs, Leanna Bray was one hundred percent hot, sexy woman, and she stole any chance Kurt had at rational thought.

After securing her hair, she took the towel from his hands. “Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. I was going to take Pepper to the water later, so this saves us time.” She traced a finger over the tattoo on his chest. “I never would have guessed you to be a tattoo guy.”

It was all he could do to shift his eyes from her bikini top to her finger working its way across his bare chest.

"Read, Write, Love" by Addison Cole is a sweet romance that filled my heart with joy.  The journey of Leanna and Kurt was joyful and fun, and, even though this is a sweet romance, meaning clean, it still held quite a bit of heat.  As the reader, you could feel the chemistry and sparks between the two.  I adored Kurt - he's a bit grumpy, a bit of a recluse, and uber sexy.  Leanna, to say she's full of life is putting it mildly.  Two people that are pretty much polar opposite.  This is what made this tale so much fun to read.  Ms. Cole takes the reader on a fun filled ride as these two find their way to each other and to a more fulfilling life.  The writing style of Ms. Cole is pleasant and easy to follow.   The scenes are detailed, making the reader feel the breeze off the ocean or the sand between your toes, yet Ms. Cole does not overdo that part either.  There's a perfect balance between the storyline and the descriptive passages that just makes this story flow and before you know it, it's finished. Such a perfect read while sitting at the beach, soaking up the rays.   (received ARC for honest review)

“You’re worried about work.”

CAT'S REVIEW

This novella is a wonderful introduction to Ms. Ryan's new series.  While we did meet the characters in a previous work, I love that they are now getting their own stories.  Caden and Mia are terrific characters.  I really liked Mia - she's strong and independent yet underneath, she really yearns to be loved and protected.  Caden is a rough and tough DEA agent who has his own hangups but, again, deep down, just wants love.  I liked the pace of their relationship, even with the couple of hangups (which made me smile).  There is action as well, which was well balanced with the love story.  The only drawback for me was that this is a novella - I really wanted more and more of Caden and Mia.  Ms. Ryan's writing style is fluid and easy to follow as well.  I highly recommend this one if you enjoy romance with some danger and suspense thrown in.  (received ARC for honest review)

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

Annelise Montjoy motored her Harley along what appeared to be the town’s main street. This was Maverick Junction?

A blue Cadillac, surely old enough to be in a museum, was parked nose-in to the curb. An incredibly ugly dog sat in the front seat.

Thank God, this, the final destination of her cross-country trip from Boston, was temporary. It looked like the kind of place you ran away from, not toward. If luck was on her side, she’d be out of here in a couple weeks at the most.
