"Last Kiss Goodnight" (Gena Showalter)

"Last Kiss Goodnight" by Gena Showalter.    This is the story of Vika and Solo - beauty and the beast.   Solo is a "monster"- an "otherworlder" that is sold to a circus.  Vika is the abused daughter of the circus' owner.  They form an unlikely bond and friendship and love develops.  Despite being a "monster", Solo is a good man.  Vika is not as timid as everyone believes - she has strong beliefs and works only to do good.   I did find keeping track of the other "otherworlders" a bit confusing, but didn't find that it affected the story.
"Last Kiss Goodnight" is a fantasy story - it delves into other worlds and beings.  This has become one of my favorites and I've read it a couple of times already.  I look forward to reading the next book in The Otherworld Assassin series, "Black and Blue" by Gena Showalter.    ✔✔✔✔✔

"Baby, I'm Yours" (Susan Andersen)

"Baby, I'm Yours" by Susan Andersen - what a fun book! I enjoyed it a lot. The heroine, Catherine, was full of spunk yet still a sweet person that cared for others. Sam, the Hero, wanted everyone to believe he was a tough guy but had his tender side too.
It was nice to see Catherine's twin, Kaylee, develop also. The side story of Kaylee and Bobby was romantic too.
I have to say, though, I found it a bit odd that Catherine was able to "pull off" some of her stunts with so much ease and perfection, despite being so nervous and, supposedly, so far from her normal behavior. But, other than that, it was a fun book with some laughs, a bit of danger and lots of love.
Enjoy!   ✔✔✔✔

"Off Sides" (Sawyer Bennett)

I enjoyed "Off Sides" by Sawyer Bennett a lot. It wasn't too heavy and even when there is some "darkness" it's not too overwhelming. I've read some reviews that said it was old fashioned - poor girl/rich boy but, for me, that is what made it so romantic. She opened his eyes to the world around him. Ryan was a great Hero - he just loved her and wanted to make her happy - what girl doesn't want that! Danny was sweet - despite having a rough go at life, she always saw the good out there and wanted to make life better for others.
If you want an easy, light read, this is the book for you!     ✔✔✔✔

"Revival" (Noelle Adams)

"Revival" by Noelle Adams - I liked the concept of this story.  The beginning was great - I enjoy when there are flashbacks to give you some history into the characters' backgrounds.  I would have like to seen a bit more, especially from Baron.
I found the relationship between Baron and Leila odd.  To me, it didn't seem like they really connected at all.  He was fantastic with the Jane and Charlotte but I never felt the "sizzle" between the H/h.  Since the development of the relationship progressed slowly, I would have liked to seen a bit more of their time together to show how they fell in love, especially since they had a history together.  That could've been expanded on a bit more.
Overall, it was a fairly quick read and a light read too.   ✔✔✔

"Safe in His Arms" (Renee Rose)

"Safe in His Arms" by Renee Rose - This is a story of a reunion of two people that had met 7 years prior. She became pregnant but believed he was killed in a military operation. (possible spoiler alert below - no real specifics but an overview of the events and my opinion of them)
I had a tough time with this story - although it didn't bother me that  Becca felt a need to have Zac "punish" her, I thought it was a bit too much and over the top most times. She could never have a different opinion than him without getting spanked - which, to me, was more of a beating most times. Also, she seemed to have been a strong person, raising her son alone for 6 years, but as soon as Zac reappeared, she became weak. He bothered me a bit as well. I felt he didn't allow her to feel angry with him or protective of her son. Again, as soon as she didn't agree with him, he would discipline her. I found the relationship between Parker and Becca odd as well - he seemed closer to Zac, whom he just met, then her.
I don't have issues with BDSM in stories but to me, I just didn't get that part of the relationship - was she really "safe in his arms"? The plot of the story about her and her son being in danger I did like. An alpha male charging in to protect his own is one of my favorite types of stories.
(I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.)    ✔✔✔
