"If He's Daring" by Hannah Howell. The story of Orion and Catryn. I really liked Catryn - at first I wasn't sure how I felt about her but as the story progresses, I grew to admire her more and more. She's strong, fiesty and caring. Even though she's a widow, she cares to retain her reputation and struggles with her feelings for Orion and if she should act on them. Orion was fun - I loved how he would try get her fired up so he could enjoy her red-headed temper! And his nervousness at the end was quite enjoyable to see. I was hoping to see a bit more danger - even when Morris grabbed Catryn and Alwyn, I never felt that sense of dread. For me the story did start a bit slow but, although the danger level didn't increase, the pace did quicken and I enjoyed the second half much more. This is book #6 of the series but I don't believe one needs to read the others (I have read two) to enjoy the story. Enough background is given to understand the quirks of the Wherlockes and Vaughns.
