THE REVELATION OF LIGHT AND DARK by Sawyer Bennett.  When I heard that Ms. Bennett was venturing into the paranormal realm again, I was intrigued.  Having enjoyed her contemporary romances these past few years, I was looking forward to something a bit different.  And, she did not disappoint.  To begin, our main characters are Finley and Carrick.  Finley, despite having a gift/curse, lives her life as normal as anyone and works hard to hide her "talents".  Carrick, having discovered her secret, helps her along, despite his unwillingness to do so.  I adored Finley - she is down to earth and a truly good person.  Carrick hides his true self and is quite gruff.  At times, he did annoy me as I wanted him to do more to help her, but, I believe Ms. Bennett is leading us on a path that will have Carrick warming my heart too.  We shall see.   There is a lot of information in this book, as it is book one of this series, (the story connects through each upcoming book - a cliffhanger tale).  My opinion is Ms. Bennett did a phenomenal job of educating the reader on the ins and outs of the characters and worlds they live in, and was able to keep the interest of the reader too.  While I tend to be one that craves the romance and action, despite both being on the slow side in this book, I couldn't not put this down as I was eager to see where we were going.  Ms. Bennett manages to create the feeling of what is yet to come and I cannot wait for the future books in this series.  (received ARC for honest review)

CODE NAME: GHOST by Sawyer Bennett.  For fans of the Jameson Force Security Series, we have been waiting for this one.  Malik, a/k/a Ghost, is finally rescued and returns home.  He meets Anna, the widow of a peer that died on the same mission where he was captured.  This was an enjoyable read that flowed smoothly and effortlessly.  I truly liked both characters.  Anna is strong and independent and Malik is a bit on the quiet side, but a genuinely good guy.  Obviously, they both have issues due to that one mission and I loved that Ms. Bennett didn't hide the emotions between these two.  They had such an open and honest relationship from the start.  It was such a pleasant change from the often used, secret keeping of emotions between couples.  Being honest, I would have liked this book to last a bit more, maybe delve more extensively into both characters issues from that mission and how they learned to deal with the fallout.  While this is addressed, it seemed to go a bit quick and easy.  However, this is still a very enjoyable read with characters that were a breath of fresh air and not too much angst.   If you are a fan of this series, (if not, I suggest checking it out), I wouldn't miss this one!  (received ARC for honest review)

CAT'S REVIEW

WICKED SECRET by Sawyer Bennett!  Well, this one was hot and sexy and had me all wrapped up around it's little finger.   This is a second chance romance, which isn't always my favorite trope, yet, Ms. Bennett's spin on it certainly had me hooked.  August and Leighton have a lot to work out, but bringing Sam into the picture certainly helped them along the way.  I liked both of these characters - August, a bit of a manwhore at first, wormed his way into my heart.  Deep down, he is a true alpha hero and just wants to save the day. Leighton, my heart hurt for her for all she has had to do and sacrifice, yet it made her a stronger person. A true testament to Ms. Bennett's writing is the sex club scenes.  These are not always my favorite things yet she has a way of making me break out the fans because, boy oh boy, they are hot!  The storyline flows beautifully, the plot was believable and had a bit of an edge to it, and the characters were true.  This story envelops a couple of Ms. Bennett's series -Wicked Horse and Jameson Security, so, for those that have read the others (not necessary to read this one), it was fun to see other characters and get a bit of a tease of upcoming works.    So excited to read what's next from this talented author.  (received ARC for honest review)

WYLDE by Sawyer Bennett.   Aaron Wylde lives his life like his last name - a bit on the wild side.  However, things change a bit when he meets Clarke, a quiet bookstore owner that manages to worm her way under his skin.  I liked Wylde a lot - despite him being a "player", I found him to be intelligent, kind, caring and patient.  Oh, and can we say super sexy too!  Clarke has a few issues when it comes to trust and putting herself out there, with good reason.  I did like Clarke a lot - even if I wanted to smack her upside the head a few times.  I especially enjoyed some of her inner thoughts in the first chapter when she first encounters Wylde.  Now, the story takes place during the hockey offseason, and we are witness to several weddings of other players from previous books.  I did enjoy getting to catch up with these characters and witness their devotion, yet, for me, it took a bit too much time as I would have preferred a bit more time of Aaron and Clarke.  However, their story was still a heartwarming tale and I loved the journey they took.  I highly recommend reading the Vengeance series by Sawyer Bennett - all books are filled with so much emotion that kept me turning each page eager to read what was next.  (received ARC for honest review)

RAFE by Sawyer Bennett. This tells the tale of Rafe and Calliope. I adored both of these characters. They have a history together that didn't end well, yet the love and respect for each other is obvious from the start. Rafe returns home to spend time with his ailing father. Calliope, a long time friend of the family too, is there to support him, despite how things ended between them. I loved her - she is so full of life and honest and simply, a good person. Rafe couldn't be any more sexier - his love for his family and for Calliope is unending and shows. Ms. Bennett does an amazing job of reaching out to the reader and making them feel all the feels. I smiled and cried and had my heart broken and yet she made it whole again too. It was fun to revisit some characters from the Cold Fury series as they are near and dear to my heart as well. The only drawback for me, was it is a novella and way to short - I am greedy and wanted more! Thoroughly enjoyed this tale - can't wait to read more that this author has to offer. Excerpt:

“You look like a fairy sea princess,” I tell her truthfully.

She blinks, waterdrops fall.

I can’t help it... I start laughing.

Immediately, I snap my mouth shut and bite down hard on my tongue. “I’m sorry.”

Calliope blinks again and then her lips part.

I snicker.

Then snort.

Her beautiful eyes narrow on me, and the next thing I know, she’s sending a wave of nasty pond water right at me. It catches me full in the face, hits the back of my throat, and I choke on it. I deserve it.

When I clear my eyes, Calliope is bent over, laughing hysterically, her shoulder dipping down into the water. The sound of her lilting voice is music to my ears, and I don’t want it to stop.

So what’s a guy to do?

I splash a wall of water back at her. She sputters and looks stunned for only a moment before her palms slap at the pond’s surface, and I’m caught full in the face again.

CODE NAME:HACKER by Sawyer Bennett. This is the fourth installment of the Jameson Force Security series and Ms. Bennett did not disappoint.  HACKER tells the story of Bebe and Griffin.  I adored Bebe.  She is strong and resilient, an amazing mom and daughter yet she has a vulnerability to her, despite all she has gone through.  Griff, boy oh boy, did Ms. Bennett nail him!  He made me swoon a bit!  Together, I found them to be an endearing couple, despite both being some pretty tough cookies.   The story was filled with suspense, danger and some surprising moments too.  Having met Bebe in the previous books (this one can be read alone), I was really looking forward to learning her story.  Ms. Bennett certainly has a knack for taking her readers on rides that are filled with ups and downs, and twists and turns.  I highly recommend, not only this book, but the entire series.  (received ARC for honest review)

DOMINIK by Sawyer Bennett.  This is the one Ms. Bennett's loyal fans have been waiting for and Ms. Bennett did not disappoint!  Dominik - the loyal, dedicated and truly alpha Hero that had my heart swooning throughout the entire tale!  I adored him!  And Willow, our heroine, is a strong and independent woman that doesn't necessarily need a man, but the things Dominik does to her - oh boy! Break out the fans!  Not only did I love the main characters, but the storyline was engaging and held my attention throughout.  Ms. Bennett made me laugh, cry and shout.  Ms. Bennett's knack for writing characters that are truly alpha in nature, yet so vulnerable at times - she nailed that with this one.  Dominik is a force to be reckoned with but so is Willow.  The back and forth between these two as they traversed their journey was an enjoyable ride, if not frustrating and, even heartbreaking at times.  It was fun to "catch up" with characters from previous tales too (although not necessary to read to fully enjoy DOMINIK but I highly recommend the entire series).  Ms. Bennett - thank you for, once again, creating a story that made me feel all the feels and made my heart flutter throughout.
