BOOK SUMMARY
Tony Black
is the hottest surfer on the planet. He travels the world throughout the year
and spends his summers on Cape Cod with his friends, at the Seaside cottages in
Wellfleet, Massachusetts. He’s got his choice of women, but Amy Maples is the
one he wants. Fourteen years ago she was his for an entire summer, until a
devastating accident changed everything, and what they had seemed like it had
never existed—at least for her.
Amy Maples
is as consistent as the day is long. She’s spent summers on Cape Cod forever,
she always does the right thing, and she’s spent years trying to reclaim the
heart of Tony Black, the only man she’s ever loved. She’s back for a summer of
fun with her friends at Seaside, only this year she’s been offered the
opportunity of a lifetime thousands of miles away, and she’s decided to try one
last time to reconnect with Tony. But having a relationship with Tony means
dealing with her past—and dealing with her past may knock her to her knees.

CAT'S REVIEW
"Seaside Secrets" by Melissa Foster. This is the 4th book of the Seaside Summers Series. I haven't read the other books but, although it was evident I had missed out on the other character's stories, it didn't impact this story, at least that I could tell. Now on to the story...
Tony and Amy have known and loved each other forever but, unfortunately, a tragic event in their past forced them apart. Tony, a professional surfer, is the epitome of just that - sexy, strong body and super protective and caring, especially when it comes to Amy. Amy, although described as sweet over and over throughout the book, came across as selfish and immature to me. She annoyed and aggravated me more often than not throughout the book. Now, she's not a bad person but her choices in dealing with issues that affected others came across as selfish as she only thought of herself and her pain. As the story progressed, Amy did redeem herself in my eyes a bit and I was relieved to like her more by the end. Honestly, I found both main characters (and the secondary ones too) all a bit immature. For a group all in their thirties, I often forgot that and believed them to be in early to mid-twenties, based on some of their behaviors and conversations. I did like the story of two lost loves finding themselves again. There is heartache, love, romance, and laughter. It's a wonderful bond this group of friends have and that they all love each other like family. I would like to read the first three books of the series to learn the stories of the others as I got to know them a bit in this one. I have enjoyed Ms. Foster's stories before (although have not read any of this series) and do look forward to reading more by her in the future. (received copy for honest review)
