Intrigued by the only woman in town who wouldn't be thrilled to take his arm at the big event, he's determined that she will not just agree to be his date… bur she's going to like it. Cat's Review
"Beauty's Kiss" by Jane Porter is a sweet, endearing romance. It's a Cinderella story- shy, quiet librarian swept off her feet by the town's most eligible bachelor! What's not to love! Troy, our hero, is back in his hometown to help with his ill father and to attend a ball at the local hotel he has recently refurbished. He is friendly and kind and everyone, especially the ladies, seem to love him. Taylor is new to town and feels, for the most part, unwanted and unwelcome by many, due to issues with her brother. She's nervous and a bit uncomfortable around Troy and Troy works hard to win her over. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the romance as it blossomed and also learned a bit more of their backgrounds but do to the brevity of the story, there wasn't time. This didn't take away from the fairy tale romance - I enjoyed it and wanted more! It left some questions unanswered but I supposed these will be answered in future stories. For a quick, light romantic read, this is just right! ★★★★
