“GRAYSON’S
SURRENDER”: Flight Surgeon Grayson Clark and NGO worker Lori
Rutledge shared a passionate summer full of promise and ultimately heartbreak.
After his turbulent childhood, Grayson knows well he’s ill-equipped to offer
Lori the security she craves. But Grayson can’t escape Lori’s allure when
they’re paired on a military rescue operation to an overseas orphanage. When
one heart-tugging orphan charms her way into Lori’s life and Grayson’s heart,
Lori and Grayson discover a new understanding of family – and a free-falling
surrender to love.
Excerpt from
Grayson’s Surrender:
“Nice patch there, Major.”
The words fell from her lips with a light Southern drawl, whiskey warm and
just as potent.
Gray glanced down at his sleeve. Anything. Anywhere. Anytime.
The insinuation crackled along the humidity-laden air. Gray let his gaze
slide back to her. “Wanna test the motto out?”
Lori laughed, husky, if a bit tight. “Same old gray.” Her chin tipped.
“Been there. Done that. Lost the T-shirt.”
His arms folded over his chest. “You left it at my place.”
She laughed again. The great husky laugh of hers that rolled right into
him. Just as fast, she had his hormones bombarding the defenses of his reason.
Of course sex, great sex, incredible anything, anywhere, anytime sex, had never
been their problem. But the minute they’d set their feet on the floor….
My thoughts on "Grayson's Surrender":
Ok- I loved it! The tug of war between Grayson, our hero and Lori, our heroine is one filled with sweet romance and hot, steamy encounters! Grayson has a commitment phobia and all Lori wants is to settle down. Will they come together? Will Madga, a young child that touches both their hearts, help. This is a touching and realistic story about two people in love that struggle to come to terms with their feelings. Grayson is a great guy! It's no wonder Lori falls for him. And, Lori, she's a kind, gentle person that is exactly what Grayson needs. This is a must read! Thank you, Ms. Mann, for a wonderful story! Enjoy!
“TAKING COVER”: Battle lines are drawn when Flight
Surgeon Kathleen O’Connell temporarily grounds Captain Tanner Bennett from
flying combat. No way does Tanner plan to watch his crew from the sidelines.
Not that he has a choice, thanks to by-the-rules Kathleen and his ground duty
assignment to investigate a crash. When Kathleen is teamed with him in the
investigation, they’re both diving for cover as they battle an attraction ready
to detonate!
Excerpt from Taking Cover:
He twisted in the chair. Looking. Finding. Her.
Kathleen stood silhouetted in the doorway.
His chair thudded to the barroom floor in a teeth-jarring landing. No
flight suit for her tonight. She'd changed.
Man, how she'd changed.
Leather pants molded themselves to her every curve. They sealed over her
trimly muscled calves, up her thighs to cup that bottom he'd been trying not to
watch all day. Her hair flowed in a fiery curtain around her face, brushing the
collar of her satin shirt. Scorching his eyes from across the smoky room.
She leaned over the bar to place her drink order. Her blouse inched up,
baring a thin stripe of skin along her back.
Twelve years.
Twelve years hadn't dimmed the memory of how soft, how warm, that skin had
felt beneath his hands...
My thoughts on "Taking Cover":
This story starts off strong and gets better and better! Both Kathleen and Tanner are strong, smart and independent individuals that are ordered to work together to investigate an accident. While working so closely together, an old spark reignites and they grow closer too. I liked that the relationship grew and got stronger with time, not rushed. Tanner is great - despite hardships in his past, he still is positive and loves to laugh. Kathleen is vulnerable and not thinking too highly of herself, having believed her ex-husbands words. Watching their love grow and blossom is a beautiful thing! Again, Ms. Mann has done it! Don't miss any of the Wingman Warriors stories!
