"The Color of a Christmas Miracle" by Julianne MacLean.  Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ms. MacLean is one heck of writer and once again, captured my heart and soul with this one.  Throughout, my heart filled with joy and then cried in pain.  We follow Claire's journey in this story.  I'll be honest, there were a few times I didn't care for Claire as I thought she came across a bit selfish, yet it was also understandable.  However, as time passes and Claire lives through her ups and downs, I really just wanted to reach through the pages and offer her a hug.   The writing style of Ms. MacLean keeps the reader engaged and guessing at times.  I couldn't put the book down until I knew what the outcome was or else I'd never be able to concentrate on other tasks.  When I review a story, I decide on the star rating based on my feelings during and after the read.  Well, Ms. MacLean deserves this 5 star rating as this story hasn't left my heart or mind since finished.  It is filled with love, sadness, happiness and several twists and turns I didn't see coming.  Thank you, Ms. MacLean, for another delightful read.  I cannot wait for the next!  (received copy from the author for an honest review)

"Adam's Promise" by Julianne MacLean is a sweet, historical romance.It tells the tale of Adam and Madeline in Nova Scotia during Colonial times - a new era for me to read.   Adam comes across as a bit rough in the beginning.  I found him to be a bit shallow as well but over time I grew to like him more and more.  He's a hard worker and cares for his fellow man as well as the land around him.  Madeline is a bit shy yet can be stubborn too.  My heart did hurt for her as she uncovered the lies she believed to be true.  Sometimes her stubborness was a bit much and I really wanted to shake her.  Her loyalty knew no bounds and certainly was often misplaced, in my opinion.  Ms. MacLean has written a tale that was interesting and intriguing.  I enjoyed the history and location and found myself envisioning the landscape as well as the characters and feeling what was in their hearts. She enabled the reader to feel not only their emotions towards others but towards life as they lived it.  While I have read most of the books in Ms. MacLean's The Color of Heaven series and loved them all, I will now add Ms. MacLean's historical romance to my list of delightful stories too.  (received copy for honest review)

"The Color of a Promise" by Julianne MacLean.  I don't know how Ms. MacLean does it, but once again, she has written a tale that was captivating and thought provoking.  She has a knack for making the reader sit back and say, "Hmm, what if?".   The story itself stirs the heart and mind and had me so enthralled, I didn't put it down until it was finished.   Jack, heartbroken after losing the love of his life to his brother, has some very interesting views and thoughts on life.   Jack really grew on me as the story progresses.  Not that I didn't like him to start but I grew to love him by the end.  And Meg is precious.  Together they make a perfect fit.  But the questions abound about Meg and Ms. MacLean certainly draws the reader into wondering about Jack's beliefs about life, both current and previous ones.   The writing is superb and the story flows effortlessly.   Ms. MacLean brings about different perspectives about life and it's meaning.   Having read the previous books in the series, I found that, after finishing each, the story and its characters stay within my mind and heart for a long time.  (note - while I don't think it necessary to read the others first, I highly recommend them).  (received copy for honest review)

"Mail Order Prairie Bride" by Julianne MacLean is an enjoyable, historical read. I like historical romances that have the mail order bride theme but find, often they are very simplistic with characters that don't necessarily hold my interest.  Ms. MacLean is not one of those authors.  Her characters intrigued me, the story gripped me and the writing style and flow was enticing and believable.  Sarah and Briggs, our main characters, both bring some heavy emotional stuff to this relationship.  Watching them as they try to work through it endeared them both to me.  I liked Sarah and it was fun to watch her try so hard to become a prairie bride.  Briggs is rough and tough but he has a way about him that just made me swoon.   Ms. MacLean brought out smiles, a touch of angst and warmth throughout.  I have enjoyed Ms. MacLean's COLOR OF HEAVEN series immensely and was excited to read this to see if she would maintain the quality of writing I have grown to love and I am happy to say, yes she did.  If you enjoy historical romances, this one should be at the top of your TBR list!  (received copy for honest review).

"The Color of Forever" by Julianne MacLean.  Wow!  Ms. MacLean sure knows how to write.  While I have not read all the books in this series (The Color of Heaven Series), I have read a few and honestly, cannot say which is my favorite.  I've enjoyed all of them to that degree.  In "The Color of Forever", Ms. MacLean has penned a beautiful tale of the journey of love, a touch of magic and a sense of being that I don't often find in other books.   In this story, we have Katelyn.  She is a reporter that has a life altering event that leads her on a path of self discovery.  As she travels with her best friend Bailey, she meets others that all have an impact on her life.   I so enjoyed this journey - it's deep and thought provoking yet leaves the reader with a sense of wonder and awe.  Ms. MacLean has proven to me yet again that she is a talented and truly gifted artist that brings her characters and story to life through words.  Her descriptions are detailed yet not overdone.  As the reader, I believed and could envision each and every scene.  The feelings portrayed by the characters I felt in my heart.  I felt as if I was a spirit myself, traveling this journey with Katelyn, overlooking her shoulder the entire time.   While this is Book 10 of the series, it can easily be read as a standalone.  Although, if the other books in the series are as enchanting as the three I've read already, I will gladly read the remainder and recommend that as well.  (received copy from author for honest review)

So, I'm not even sure what to write, exactly!  This book was not what I thought it would be yet so much more than I expected.  This book left me thinking about it long after I finished reading it - to me, that makes it a remarkable tale.  This is a beautiful story that had me anxious to turn the page to find out what would happen next.  There were a few surprises - I actually gasped at one in particular!  There is sadness, joy, anger and love.  Josh, a police officer recovering from a near death experience, reconnects with old childhood friends.  The turn of events from that point on are uplifting and real.  I was cheering on for his friends to stand strong and, of course, for Josh to find his true soul mate.  This is the first book I've read of Ms. MacLean and I am more anxious than ever to read more of her works, because this one had me thinking about it long after I finished reading it - to me, that makes it a remarkable and wonderful story.  Don't Miss This One!!  (Received copy for honest review)
