"With Every Breath" by Maya Banks. In this riveting tale, Ms. Banks brings us the story of Eliza and Wade. We me them both in previous books and their banter and back and forth left us wondering where these two could go. I have to admit, neither is my favorite character, however, Ms. Banks still made me want only the best for both. Eliza is a really, really strong heroine - she's tough as nails and never shows fear. Wade is quite the arrogant one - he's possessive and not afraid to bend the rules if needed. Together they butt heads constantly yet passion flows and is scorching hot. Wade did melt my heart at times, especially when he was there for Eliza, who, despite her almost icy exterior, is truly a person with a heart of gold that is loving and protective. There were a few times throughout that I did find the story dragged ever so slightly but then, Bam! Ms. Banks brought us right back into the meat of it. Ms. Banks has a knack for making the reader squirm and quiver with fear - her villians are nothing short of evil. I highly recommend reading the previous books of the series as they do offer some background to our main characters as well as the secondary characters. Plus they are super enjoyable reads - filled with romance, a bit of humor and edge of your seat, nail biting suspense. However, this can be read as a stand alone too.
