CAT'S REVIEW
"Sinful" by Joan Johnston. This is a story of true love that was denied but never died. Connor and Eve were attracted to each other as teenagers but, fate was against them. Now, although tragic, circumstances have brought them back together. I liked Eve - she was torn about her feelings for Connor and what she should do about them. She was a good person that only wanted to help and didn't want to betray her family or her best friend's memory. I was cheering for her throughout the story. Connor, a war vet, struggles with some guilt as well and with lots of family strife. He's a strong person that will follow his conviction for what he believes in and for what and who he loves. I was hoping for a bit more with Eve and Brooke and Sawyer to see how their relationship developed. Even more with just Eve and Connor - often the story involved the other characters - I only wish to have a few extra scenes of just the two of them as they discovered their love for each other. This story had me smiling at bits but also made me sad at times. It has some happiness and heartache and some joyful scenes too. I look forward to Ms. Johnston's sharing of the stories of the other Flynns and Grayhawks in the future. (received copy from NetGalley for honest review)
