"A Kick in the Pants" & "Will Never Fade" (Jenna Sutton) ★★★★ BOOK TOUR with GIVEAWAY!!

Two All New, Sexy Riley O'Brien & Co. Novellas

A KICK IN THE PANTS
A Riley O'Brien & Co. Novella
Jenna Sutton
Released Nov 15th, 2016

Jake Lilliard has always been a gambling man. So far, all the risks he’s taken — like moving to San Francisco and joining Riley O’Brien & Co. — have paid off. Now he’s ready to take the biggest risk of all: acting on his feelings for Kyla Andrews. As a trainee in his department, she’s off limits. But as soon as Kyla moves on to another job, he is going to make her his. He’s waited long enough…

When tragedy struck Kyla’s family years ago, she started playing it safe. She doesn’t take risks with her job or her heart, and she refuses to be a cliché – the foolish woman who falls for her sexy boss. Yet Jake is everything she has ever wanted, and it’s impossible to resist him and his enticing kisses.

Just when it seems that the gamble they took will pay off, Jake’s past threatens his future with Kyla. He knows lady luck is fickle, but she’s always had a soft spot for him. He’s hoping she won’t turn her back on him when he needs her the most…

EXCERPT

A Kick in the Pants excerpt:
Metal wall sconces illuminated the corridor, throwing pools of golden light on the dark wood plank floors. A door opened a few feet ahead of her, and Jake emerged from it. He froze when he saw her, his eyes widening before he ambled toward her.
The narrow corridor made her even more aware of his height and muscular physique, and her body reacted the way it always did when got close. Her heart began to pound, and her breathing grew shallow. Suddenly, her throat was dry, and she swallowed thickly.
Stopping right in front of her, he looked down into her face. His eyes caught the light from the sconces, glimmering with a million shades of green and gold. They dropped to her mouth before jumping back to hers.
“You’ve got sugar on your lips,” he notified her, his voice low and gravelly.
Without thinking, she licked her upper lip. He moved closer, the front of his long-sleeved dress shirt brushing against her chest. She nervously stepped back, afraid that she might throw herself at him. He followed until her back was against the wall. She sucked in a shaky breath, trying not to let him see how much his nearness affected her.
“Not there.” He touched his thumb to her lower lip, toward the corner. “Here.”
Dropping his head, he licked the spot where his thumb had been. She gasped, certain that she was having yet another X-rated dream starring Jake. When his tongue flicked along the outer edge of her upper lip, she realized it wasn’t a dream.
“And you’ve got some here,” he murmured, tracing her lower lip with his tongue.
She gripped his upper arms, his biceps rock hard under her fingers. “What are you doing?” she breathed against his mouth.
He drew back to stare into her eyes. “I’m not your boss anymore, Kyla. I’m just a guy who works for the same company you do, and lucky for me, that company doesn’t have any rules against co-workers dating, even if they’re in the same department.”
She barely heard a word he said because her ears were roaring with her pulse. “What?”
He smiled slowly, and she couldn’t tear her eyes from his mouth. She clutched his arms tighter, wanting those lips on every part of her body.
“I’m not your boss anymore,” he repeated. “I have been counting the days until … until I could …”
“Until you could what?” she whispered.
“Until I could be with you,” he answered hoarsely. “That’s all I want … a chance to be with you.”

CAT'S REVIEW
"A Kick in the Pants" by Jenna Sutton.  Starting note - despite being part of a series, can easily be read as a stand alone.  Now to the gist of this review, the story.  I adored our main characters - Jake is sexy and sweet and Kyla is indpendent yet a touch vulnerable too.  I was swooning throughout as Jake works hard to win her heart.  Jake had to work a bit to win Kyla over due to past histories for both of them, but that was part of the fun.  My only wish was that it wasn't a novella and was longer, I really wanted to see more of their developing relationship first hand.  Ms. Sutton has a knack for writing tales that touch the heart and make sweet, love filled music.  I enjoy her style of writing and her stories tend to leave me with a feel good feeling that lasts all day.   (received ARC for honest review)

WILL NEVER FADE
A Riley O'Brien & Co. Novella
Jenna Sutton
Releasing Dec 13th, 2016

For Phoebe Werner, the management trainee program at Riley O’Brien & Co. represents a new beginning. She’s finally healthy, and she is trying to enjoy life while she can. She never expects to run into Garrett Gale at a New Year’s Eve party. The handsome hotelier is the only man she wants… and a reminder of what she can never have.

Years ago, Garrett enjoyed one memorable night with Phoebe after months of fantasizing about her. And then, she disappeared. She ignored his efforts to contact her, and he did his best to forget her. Now fate has brought her back into his life and his bed. But who knows how long she’ll stay there?

With Phoebe's fears threatening to ruin their chance at happiness, Garrett must convince her that they're meant to be. He can't let Phoebe walk away with his heart again.

CAT'S REVIEW
"Will Never Fade" by Jenna Sutton. This is a novella and a quick read.  While it's part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.  Now to the story..Phoebe and Garrett have an amazing attraction to each other and acted on that years ago.  Now they have a second chance.  Garrett is truly a Hero in my book.  A Hero of love.  He never gave up or lost his love for Phoebe and is determined to win her back. Phoebe, due to circumstances beyond her control, left their love behind.  I adored Garrett - he's sexy and kind and unbelievably patient.  Phoebe, while I liked her as a whole, I found her reasonings for staying away, after a while, a bit trite.  I don't want to give much away and, while I did understand her fears, I didn't understand her unwillingness to speak with Garrett.  Honestly, I struggled slightly to push through the middle of the story due to that.  However, Ms. Sutton redeemed herself with the last part and I fell head over heels in love with both characters.  Well done Ms. Sutton.  (received ARC for honest review)

Forgetty picked up her cell and began dialing.
“Who are you calling now?” he asked.
“Jill, how the heck are you?” Forgetty said with a bland tone, speaking to his assistant. “We’ve got a situation.” Forgetty listened for a moment. “Nope, Belch did not superglue himself to the Empire State Building again.” She listened and then laughed. “Ouch. Yeah. I forgot about that rope burn accident. But his junk appears to be intact and enjoying its usual fresh air.”
Belch grumbled at Forgetty, knowing that she and Jill were discussing the time Cimil dared him to walk a tightrope over the Grand Canyon. Blindfolded. A very bad choice because when he slipped, he hadn’t been wearing any clothes and…well, his balls took the first hit. He then fell to his death. Luckily, however, when a deity’s body was destroyed, they were sent back into the cosmos, where they could return to the realm of the gods—if they weren’t currently banned—or return to the human realm with a new body. The whole process usually took a few days since the gods depended on sacred portals (aka cenotes, aka underground springs) in the Mexican jungle to rebuild them one molecule at a time—very low-tech, but tried and true. Still, ruining one’s human shell hurt like a sonofabitch.
Forgetty continued her conversation with Jill over the phone. “Sadly, this is a serious matter. Belch has got to find his forever someone or he’ll turn evil and be locked up. I’m putting you in charge of keeping him sober.” A moment passed. “Hello? Hello?” Forgetty pulled her cell from her ear. “I think she hung up on me.” Forgetty dialed again. “Voicemail! Can you believe her?”
“Was going to fire her anyway. I think I’ve gone weeks without pants.” Oh well. Belch shrugged, feeling his throat dry out and hearing that frosty cold beer calling his name. “How about a beer to celebrate going on the wagon?”
“No!” His sister shook her finger. “And so help me, Belch, if you touch one drop of alcohol, I’m going to—”
Forgetty’s cell beeped, and she took a peek. “Cimil is calling an emergency midnight meeting at her office.”
“Wow. We’ve never had one of those before. Must be important.”
His sister gave him a look.
“What?” he asked defensively.
“You turning into a threat to humanity is important. And we just had an emergency meeting last week.”
We did? “You must’ve made me forget.”
“I’ve never used my powers on you, brother.”
Really? Because he could barely remember the last ten thousand years.
She added, “It’s also against our laws to do so without permission.”
“Then why’s it all a void?”
“Uhhh…because you’ve been wasted for more millennia than I can count. But not like you’ve missed much. A few near misses with the apocalypse. Cimil got married to Roberto, the king of vampires, and had evil half-vampire, half-divine quadruplets, and…a bunch of the other gods got married. Even Votan has a son.”
The God of Death and War is a father? I definitely need to drink a keg. ASAP. “When did this happen?”
“Over the last couple of years.”
Gods. He’d only been sober for two minutes and already realized how much he’d missed.
He looked at his sister and blinked hard. Whoa. That’s what she looks like?
Mistaking his expression for despair, Forgetty reached across the bar and squeezed his hand. “Do not worry, brother, we’ll figure this out.”
“No. It’s not that.”
“Then what?” she asked.
“I always thought you had four eyes and two heads.”
“Ha. Funny.”
“Who said I was joking?” He really wasn’t.
“All right. I need to finish getting everything ready for tonight’s party.”
“Oh, is it ladies’ night? I love ladies’ night.” Just last week, he’d gone home with five women, who pleasured him all night long. That was the nice thing about being a deity—women found them irresistible. Their scent, their hypnotically sexy turquoise eyes, the divine energy wafting from their bodies. In his case, his very large cock was also a nice chick magnet. There was never a shortage of admirers. The only downside was that a god’s energy could kill a person—fry their brain—if the god didn’t make them wear a very special black jade to help absorb their potent powers. He personally had a lovely collection of black jade bracelets back home.
You mean the taco truck?
Oh yeah. Burned down my house. He’d have to go shopping tomorrow for a new house. Maybe I’ll go big this time and buy a bouncy castle.
“Well, I’m ready to help welcome the women.” He rubbed his hands together.
“You’re getting locked in the closet until I leave for the meeting,” said Forgetty.
It was only eleven in the morning. “No. I’m not.” He defiantly took a seat on the stool again.
She reached out and grabbed his arm. “Acan, listen to me. The party is over. And you need to grow up. Your reckless teen years are over.”
Grow up. Grow up? I’m the party god and this party ain’t ever gonna end!
“Are you going to serve me or not?” he growled.
“Not.”
“Fine.” He rose from the barstool, his bare ass making a qwiiip! sound as it peeled off the vinyl cushion. “I’ll see you at Cimil’s office.”
“Hey! Where are you going?” his sister yelled as he headed for the door.
“To do what I do best!”
“Belch! Dammit! No more partying!”
Screw that. If he had to find a mate, he wanted one who knew how to throw down and worshiped at the altar of wine like he did, not some teetotaler. Going to find myself a real woman. Fit for a god.

His eyes widened, and he swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing in his throat. Frozen in place, he only stared at her as he labored to breathe.
“Are you okay? Do you need your inhaler?”
“Yes. No. Wait.” He pulled in a deep breath. “I’m okay. It’s just that I’ve thought about this so many times. Dreamed of what it would be like. But I never imagined it would be like this. You’re a goddess. You literally take my breath away.”
Oh. My. Gosh.
Her heart ached at the pure honesty of his words.
He shook his head, letting out an embarrassed sigh. “Sorry. That’s pretty nerdy, huh? It’s gotta be so sexy to take your top off and have a guy have an asthma attack just from looking at you.”
If you only knew.
She sat up, pressing him back against the sofa as she straddled his lap. Pushing his hair off his forehead, she gazed into his eyes, trying to match his sincerity. “You just told me that seeing me half naked literally took your breath away. That’s actually sexy as hell.”
A grin tugged at the corner of his lips. A grin so cute that she couldn’t help but smile back.
“Jack Bannister. You are like no man that I have ever known. I’m sitting topless in your lap, and instead of mauling me, we’re grinning like loons.”
His smile widened. “I know. It’s ridiculous. I want to maul you. Well, I mean I want to everything you. It’s not like I’m normally a real suave guy or anything. But holy hell, when I’m around you, I feel like a gawky teenage boy again that’s never kissed a girl and is completely transfixed by an amazing pair of breasts.” His gaze flicked down to her chest and color brightened his cheeks. “I don’t even know what to do with my hands.”
She cocked an eyebrow at him. “Amazing, huh?”
He nodded. “Spectacular.”
His words made her bold, the way he looked at her bringing out her brazen side. “How about this—how about if you stop worrying about what you’re not doing and let’s focus on what we could be doing.” She pushed off his lap and shimmied out of her pajama bottoms.
Reveling in the sharp pull of his breath, she stood before him, wearing only a tiny pair of white lace thong panties. Even though she worked out consistently, no amount of skating could shave off the extra curve of her hips. But tonight she didn’t care.
He’d just told her that he thought she had the body of a goddess. Leaning forward, she took his hand and pulled him up to stand in front of her. “And don’t worry, I have plenty of ideas for what you can do with your hands.”

asks you to love him back, but only for pretend?

MORE THAN FRIENDS

Releasing Dec 5th, 2016
Entangled BLISS

Owen Burnett planned on a quiet, easygoing Christmas, hanging out with his best friend and neighbor, Gabby Michaelson. So when his mom pressures him to come home for the holidays, he tells a little white lie…that he’s spending the holidays with his new girlfriend. But when his family shows up unexpectedly, Owen pulls the best friend card and asks Gabby to play his fake girlfriend.

Gabby’s been hopelessly in love with her best friend Owen for what feels like forever, but playing his "fake" girlfriend when the entire boisterous Burnett clan visits is easier said than done. The more she tries to deny the attraction between them, the more obvious their chemistry becomes. But even though she's not the only one feeling it, putting their friendship on the line is a risk she can’t take.

EXCERPT
The fire glowed and made the room comfortably warm. Gabby tried to latch on to each moment, to file it away. It was like this one morning had healed an aching part of her soul that had gone missing twelve years ago. Nothing could replace her family, but knowing she was no longer alone was a gift she couldn’t fathom.
Owen passed her a box with her name on it. “You doing all right?”
“I am. I’m wonderful,” she said.
He pressed a gentle kiss to her mouth, then leaned back. “I already knew that.”
Gabby just smirked at him and mouthed the word “dork.” He tugged a lock of her hair playfully, then nudged the present on her lap.
“Open it,” he said.
Peeling the wrap off without restraint, she found a gorgeous five-by-seven wooden frame nestled inside. The wood was purposely worn to make it look older, and the black and white picture of her and Owen smiling made Gabby’s heart burst open, like there was too much love and joy inside her to contain. She turned, wrapped her arms around Owen’s neck, and hugged him tight. Tears streamed down her cheeks and she couldn’t hold them back. Owen’s arms held her strong.
“Hey. You okay?”
She nodded into the crook of his neck, then pulled back. Everyone was eyeing her somewhat warily, like they didn’t want to further upset her. But she wasn’t upset.
“You are all the greatest people. This has been the best Christmas I can remember in so long. Thank you for making me feel so included.” She sniffed as she wiped at her tears.
Owen’s arm pulled her close and she leaned her head against him.
“You’ll always be included, Gabriella. You’re part of our family now, and if Owen does something to mess this up, you just leave him home and come spend next Christmas with us. He doesn’t even know the words to most of the carols, anyway,” Beth said.
Everyone laughed, including Owen. “Thanks, Mom. Way to sell me out.”

CAT'S REVIEW
"More Than Friends" by Jody Holford.  This is sweet contemporary romance that is, simply put, a feel good for the day treat.   I adored both main characters, Owen and Gabby.  They are a bit opposite, Owen being quite organized and Gabby a free spirit, both add to the likability of each and as a couple.  The plot is simple and used before, but still came across as refreshing and new.  The story flows nicely and the development of both characters, alone and as a couple, was heartwarming and real.  I haven't always been a fan of friends to lovers but recently, this tale included, authors have been changing my mind.    The addition of many secondary characters, at times, I did feel was a bit overwhelming and yearned for a bit more of Owen and Gabby time, but still, a truly enjoyable read that left me smiling and happy I read it.   (received copy for honest review)
