ENDEARED by J.S. Scott.  This was truly a heartbreaking and a heartwarming tale, all wrapped up into one.  I adored both Owen and Layla.  Both characters had to overcome so much and yet, still made something of themselves.  Ms. Scott sure does know how to pull at the heartstrings in this one!  I ran the mix of emotions throughout - feeling hurt for them and cheering for them too.  This series has been terrific (although I believe this can be read as a standalone) and I look forward to the next one Ms. Scott shares with us! CAT'S REVIEW

JOIN THE CLUB by Lani Lynn Vale.  This is book 7 of the KPD SWAT Generation 2.0 and tells the tale of Bourne and Delanie.  I really liked both of these characters, especially Bourne.   He was such a good guy that he made my heart stutter a bit.   Their story is not traditional - two sets of twins falling for each other, with a child inserted too.  Talk about crazy!  Ms. Vale does a good job, though, of keeping it all straight for the reader.   The storyline itself was good - I was hoping for a bit more drama and action in regard to the actual "villain", but, when the high point of drama hit, boy, did it hurt my heart.  Oh, how I felt so many emotions for these characters - anger, hurt, sadness - I really wanted to just yell and scream.   I like the author's writing style too - the story comes from both POV's and we see and hear their feelings and thoughts, which is how I like it.    Overall, a quick and enjoyable read.   (received ARC for honest review)

A LITTLE BIT WICKED by Melissa Foster.   Ooh-La-La!  Ms. Foster has stolen my heart with this one.  I adore Justin!  He is uber sexy, down to earth - what you see is what you get with him.  He is protective and loving and simply scrumptious!   Chloe, well, she is a bit more closed off, with good reason.  It did take a little bit more time for me to warm up to her, but, as the story progressed and I learned more about her, I came to love her too.  And the two of them together are delightful  Ms. Foster has such a knack for creating tales that encompass so many emotions, and this one was no different.  There is happiness, sadness, laughter and tears with a little drama thrown in too.  I am so excited for this new series and  A LITTLE BIT WICKED has certainly kicked it off right.  (received ARC from author for honest review)

I'M BACK!!!!!

Hi Lovely Followers!  💓💓

I am happy to say that I will be once again posting about wonderful books (yes, mostly romance as that is my favorite genre).

Please forgive me for the hiatus.  I believe I had previously posted about some health issues that arose last summer.  It has taken me a while to get back on track and blogging just wasn't up there on the list while I dealt with, not only the physical aspects of my health, but mental and emotional ones too.

Here's a bit of my story:

In July, I visited the doctor with a complaint of abdominal pain.  She ordered a CT scan which discovered an abdominal mass.  Now, in 2015 I had a complete hysterectomy so it was a bit worrisome since there were no parts down there!  I followed up with a gynecological surgeon and the tentative diagnosis was endometrial cancer (which can occur despite the hysterectomy - sometimes some minute cells get left behind)  Surgery was scheduled for August.

Surgery Day - once I was out, the doctor scanned before cutting and discovered that it appeared smaller then the previous scans.  She decided to go in laproscopically first to see what was going on.  Well, lo and behold, it wasn't a gynecological issue but was gastrointestinal one!  The mass was attached to my small intestine!  (the mass had fallen over which is why I felt it where I did and why it was believed to be gynecological).

Fortunately, one of the top GI doctors was in the next OR and came in to consult.  It was successfully removed and recovery began.  Now, overall the physical recover from the surgery went very well.  I felt fairly good from day one and improved from there.

This is where the mental and emotional issues began.  It was a cancerous tumor.  After testing, etc., it was determined to be a Gastronintestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST).  My prognosis is very good and, while I do need to have treatments, they are in the form of a daily pill.  Not terrible but still, a bit overwhelming. 

My doctors and additional staff have been fantastic - from the surgeons to my oncologist to the social worker and nutritionist to lab staff, etc.  While it can still be overwhelming and there are moments it gets to me, I have a wonderful outlook that these amazing people have helped me achieve. Yes, it will lifelong fight but my odds are good and I am just so happy to live life and enjoy!!

So, there's a summary of why I was MIA these last several months.  I already have a few books lined up to post about in the next few weeks - it might take me a bit to get back up to the rate I was posting but I am back and will post away!

LIAM by LeAnn Ashers.  So, this is my first venture with this author and I can honestly say...I LOVED IT!  Paisley and Liam were amazing together.  Liam, a tough and gruff ex SEAL knows how to love and how to protect his woman!  He made me all swoony!  Paisley is a tough girl in her own right but truly, a sweet and loving one too.  The story is filled with danger and the harshness of a MC but not overly so.  It is more about family and doing whatever it takes to keep them safe.   It was also a likable read due to the focus on Liam and Paisley and their growing love over the years.  He wasn't a jerk and she wasn't the naive girl that follows along no matter what.  I enjoyed Ms. Ashers' writing and the fluidity of the story was easy to follow.  Ms. Ashers has gained a fan and I can't wait to read more - This was one I couldn't put down until it ended and them I wanted more!  (received ARC for honest review)
