DARE TO PLAY by Carly Phillips. This tells the tale of Jaxon and Macy. Jaxon, a professional baseball player, needs to straighten out his act and Macy, an independent woman working hard to raise her teenage sister on her own. They both need each other to get what they want but will their marriage of convenience turn into more? I loved Jaxon - he is uber sexy and the sweetest guy. There are many layers to this man and Ms. Phillips did a great job of removing them. I liked Macy too. She works hard and is doing her best to help her sister, Hannah, which isn't easy. Hannah was a bit much for me, I really wanted to throttle her several times. The writing flows effortlessly and it is so easy to follow. The story itself is filled with a lot - there is happy times and angst filled times, moments of uncertainty and moments of love. This was a truly delightful read and I look forward to reading more by this author in the future. (received ARC for honest review)
