CAT'S REVIEW
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Ms. Shalvis has once again proven to me that she is an author that tugs at the heartstrings and steals one's heart. I adored this story - Pru and Finn - can you get any sexier? As I began to read, it was flowing along nicely, not sure where we were going and then, BAM! the dart incident! I was laughing out loud, as is par for a Ms. Shalvis book. From that point on, I was hooked. Throughout, I laughed and smiled but also got quite teary too. Pru is spunky but has a heart so full of love, you can't help but adore her. Finn, sexy and a hard worker, needs a Pru in his life, he needs the "fun whisperer". Together they are magical. Secrets, love, and magic wishes all work together in this tale that kept me up all night to finish. Ms. Shalvis, thank you for sharing your amazing talent with the world and for putting a smile on my face and lifting my heart a bit more with each page turned. (received copy for honest review)

BOOK SUMMARY

Indecent Proposal
Manwhore. That's what the board of directors-and the tabloids-thinks of billionaire bachelor Reese Crane. Ordinarily he couldn't care less, but his playboy past is preventing the board from naming him CEO of Crane Hotels. Nothing-and no one-will keep him from his life's legacy. They want a settled man to lead the company? Then that's exactly what he'll give them.

Merina Van Heusen will do anything to get her parents' funky boutique hotel back-even marry cold-as-ice-but-sexy-as-hell Reese Crane. It's a simple business contract-six months of marriage, absolute secrecy, and the Van Heusen is all hers again. But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband . . .

Even with her nostrils flared, Merina forced a smile. There was only one way past this gatekeeper. She called up an ounce of poise—an ounce being the most she could access at the moment. “Merina Van Heusen to see Reese Crane.”
“Ms. Van Heusen,” the woman said, her tone flat, her eyes going to the doorknob in Merina’s hand. “You’re here regarding the changes to the hotel, I presume.”
“You got it,” Merina said, barely harnessing her anger. How come everyone was so damn calm about dismantling a town landmark?
“Have a seat.” Crane’s bulldog gestured one manicured hand at a group of cushy white chairs, her mouth frowning in disgust as she took in Merina’s dishevelment. “Perhaps I could fetch you a towel first.”
“I won’t be sitting.” She wasn’t about to be put in her place by Reese’s underling. Then her prayers were answered as the set of gleaming wooden doors behind the secretary’s desk parted like the Red Sea.
Jackpot.
Merina barreled forward as the woman at the desk barked, “Excuse me!”
Merina ignored her. She wouldn’t be delayed another second…or so she thought. She stopped short when a woman in a very tight red dress, the neckline plunging into plentiful cleavage, her heels even higher and potentially more expensive than Merina’s Louboutins, swept out of the office and gave her a slow, mascaraed blink back. Then she sashayed around Merina, past the bulldog, and left behind a plume of perfume.
Interesting.
Reese’s latest date? An escort? If Merina believed the local tabloids, one and the same. Paying for dates certainly wasn’t above his pay grade.
Before the doors closed, she slipped into Reese’s office.
“Ms. Van Heusen!” came a bark behind her, but Reese, who stood facing the windows and looking out upon downtown, said three words that instantly shut his secretary up.
“She’s fine, Bobbie.”
Merina smirked back at the sour-faced, coal-eyed secretary as Reese’s office doors whooshed shut.
“Merina, I presume.” Reese still hadn’t turned. His posture was straight, jacket and slacks impeccably tailored to his muscular, perfectly proportioned body. Shark or not, the man could wear a suit. She’d seen the photos of him in the Trib as well as Luxury Stays, the hotel industry’s leading trade magazine, and like every other woman in Chicago, she hadn’t missed the gossip about him online. Like his more professional photos, his hands were sunk into his pant pockets, and his wavy, dark hair was styled and perfect.
Clearly the woman who had just left was here on other business…or past business. If something more clandestine was going on, Reese would appear more mussed. Then again, he probably didn’t muss his hair during sex. From what she gleaned about him via the media, Reese probably didn’t allow his hair to muss.
The snarky thought paired with a vision of him out of that suit, stalking naked and primed, golden muscles shifting with each long-legged step. Sharp, navy eyes focused only on her…
He turned to face her and she snapped out of her imaginings and blinked at the stubble covering a perfectly angled jaw. What was it about that hint of dishevelment on his otherwise perfect visage that made her breath catch?
Thick dark brows jumped slightly as his eyes zoomed in on her chest.
She sneered before venturing a glance down at her sodden silk shirt. Where she saw the perfect outline of both nipples. A tinge of heat lit her cheeks, and she crossed her arms haughtily, glaring at him as best she could while battling embarrassment.
“Seems this April morning is colder than you anticipated,” he drawled.

CAT'S REVIEW
"The Billionaire Bachelor" by Jessica Lemmon.  This is a contemporary romance that, although it has a common theme in romance tales, is a story that held my interest and my heart.  Our heroine, Merina, is dedicated to her family's hotel - I really, really liked Merina.  I adored how dedicated and loyal she is.   She is caring and loving yet sassy and independent too.  Reese, while he comes across all tough and playboy, really is a sexy hunk that just needs some true love.  Together, they really complement each other and create major sparks.  Ms. Lemmon has written a story that kept me turning each page, hoping and cheering on our lovely couple.  I do enjoy the marriage of convenience storyline, but only when it as well written and Ms. Lemmon has written it well!   The plot flows at a great pace - not too fast but not too slow and the characters developed right along with it.  Simply put, this tale is an enjoyable read that is perfect for summer's day at the beach. Don't miss it!  Thank you, Ms. Lemmon for sharing your creative talents with us and making us crave the next installment anxiously.  (Received copy for  honest review)

“Did you do everything I asked?”
Avner’s jaw set. “Of course I did.”
“I needed to ask—” I held his gaze tighter than I’d held his shoulder “—because I need you to look at me now, and tell me that if the time comes you’ll do what has to be done.”
He took a breath, then his jaw pulsed.
There were few people close to me I didn’t fully own. Avner might have been my only true friend. The only man with whom I’d argue. We’d argued about this. He’d refused my requests. Avner had the balls for that. Perhaps that’s what made him so crucial.
“Yeah, I’ll do it.”
My spine relaxed a fraction.
“I still say there are too many things that could go wrong, Haithem.”
My gaze drifted to the door once more.
Yes, there were.
Far too many things that could go wrong with this plan. The one contingency I’d never repeated to Angelina. One that could only work if she never suspected. It’d destroy her, but if we ever found ourselves on that road, that terrible one-way road, we’d already be beyond salvation.
Nothing, no part of all the good I could only hope would vindicate our actions, trumped her.
She had to survive me.
If everything went to hell, I could live in hell, as long as she was all right. She’d never forgive me if I had to go through with this. I’d told too many lies already. Even this planning broke the honesty keeping us together after everything I’d done.
But better to be with and not need, then need and be without.
So I planned for the worst.
“Do you have that other thing I asked for?”
“Right here.” Avner patted his breast pocket.
The door opened, and Angelina stepped through. It took work to keep the air in my lungs. She’d never been sexier. Not because she appeared different—I’d love nothing more than to strip that disguise away—it was the way she looked at me.
Angelina looked at me the way a woman does who knew and owned her own self.
She knew and owned me too.
Yet, I couldn’t help the questions clenching my guts—what had it cost to get us here? How much of her innocence had been lost? And how much more was yet to be broken.

CAT'S REVIEW
"Didn't You Promise" by Amber Bardan.  So, once again, Ms. Bardan has taken me by surprise.  After reading the first book of the series, "Didn't I Warn You", I was thrilled by the intensity of the story and the characters and was anxiously awaiting this book.  Well, she's done it again!  Ms. Bardan has me wrapped around her little finger when it comes to this series. Our characters - Haithem and Angelina work so well together.  He's the type that I really shouldn't like but absolutely love and she is sweet and a touch naive yet her ability to love and the strength of that love is mind blowing.  They don't have your typical relationship but, Ms. Bardan works her magic, and, as the reader, I don't care.  Together they are perfect - their love is intense and passionate.   "Didn't You Promise" is filled with action, secrets, sexy scenes and love.  I couldn't put it down and read it anxiously turning each page to see where we would go.   Don't miss out on this if you enjoy a bit of mystery with two very sexy characters that live and breath only for each other - but highly recommend you read book one first. BOOK SUMMARY

How can you imagine forever with someone who's leaving everything behind?

Callahan, a former army sniper, wants to make an escape from his past and everything he experienced at war, but most of all, just not feel. Feeling leads to pain and he's suffered enough. When he inherits a house on South Carolina's Kiawah Island, he packs his bags, lured by the peace and seclusion he thinks it will bring. But, Callahan never counted on meeting anyone like Trinity . . .

Trinity has always been the cute, and funny one, who most guys overlook in pursuit of her "hot" friends. She became used to being everyone's pal, until the day the young man she was attracted to, was drawn to her in return. He became her first great love, and first crushing heartbreak when she found him in bed with one of her closest friends.

To move forward, and to carry out her commitment to helping those in need, Trinity enlists in the Peace Corps, but not before returning to Kiawah for one last memorable summer. She just never imagined it would be so unforgettable.

Callahan doesn't want to get close to anyone-let alone Trinity. He finds her perkiness insufferable and her attempts to entice a smile distracting. After all, he's in Kiawah to leave all feelings behind. But when it comes to Trinity, who feels everything, it's hard not to feel something.

Neither expected to fall in love. And no one could have predicted how inseverable they'd become.

Prologue
Callahan

Three days.
That’s all I have left until this shit ends.
Three days shouldn’t feel like forever, not compared to the eight years I’ve bled to the Army. Thing is, good men have been killed in less time. In as quick as a blink, a squeeze of a trigger, or a small breath right before a grenade blows is all the time it takes to shove someone right out of life and well into death.
That’s what makes three days as long as it is. Three days is plenty of time to die.
My eyes tear when the wind picks up and shoots grime through the small hole of my lookout point. This blown out piece of cinderblock is only big enough to allow me a view of the street below, but not so small I don’t get smacked in the face with more filth. The tarp flaps above me as I spit out another layer of the dirt-sand mix spackling my teeth. Christ Almighty, I need a swig of the water resting near my elbow. But my thirst, like everything else has to wait.
I have a job to do.
I adjust my hips against the cracked cement of my bed, bathroom, and home all rolled into one, thankful that the agonizing ache stretching over the lower half of my body has settled into a now familiar numbness.
Out of all the points I’d scouted, and all the accumulated years spent in this position, I should be used to it. And in a strange way, it should almost be home. Yet nothing ever has been home.
But in three days, maybe something finally will be . . .
I shove my thoughts away and breathe as my fellow Rangers stalk along the street. It’s then I see them, a mother and daughter walking straight toward my team. Less than one city block separates them from the men counting on me to keep them alive.
The hell? How did they get past the other sniper unreported? Rogers is new on watch. But the quick paces these two are taking should have clued him in that something’s up. I train my scope on their faces; their expressions are blank, unreadable. ‘Cept that’s not what keeps my attention.
The little girl can’t be more than five. So why the fuck isn’t her mother holding her hand? I lift my radio and bark a warning, dropping it beside me as I lock my scope dead center on the woman’s head.
The radio crackles and Modreski chimes in, yelling at his team to hold their positions. He asks me what my plan is, knowing if something’s caused the short-hairs on my neck to rise, he and the boys damn well need to listen. But I don’t hear him, with a breath and a squeeze of the trigger, I leave a kid without a mother.
Just beneath the sleeve of her abayah―the dress completely covering her body―I see it, a detonator that would trigger the explosives likely strapped to her chest. A few Rangers I know―Simons and Boreman, rush forward. I start to mutter a curse, pissed at her for making me shoot her in front of her kid. But the curse lodges in my throat when I see the kid isn’t looking at her mother lying next to her dead.
She’s watching my advancing team as she lifts the detonator clasped tight in her hand.

CAT'S REVIEW
"Inseverable" by Cecy Robson.  Well, Ms. Robson has once again stolen my heart!  Her characters are real, funny and admirable.  I adored Trinity - she is warm and caring, selfless and loving.  Her upbeat attitude helps bring light to the dark.  Callahan is uber hunky - he's hurting from his time at war and could easily sink into the darkness.  He tries really hard to be alone but Trinity has other ideas.  Together, they are the perfect balance.  Ms. Robson has written a tale that had me smiling and chuckling at times yet also tearing up here and there too.  THe relationship becomes real - a touch of angst but mostly heartfelt emotion and love.    Being book one of a new series, we also got to meet many secondary characters.  Sometimes I find that annoying yet, again, Ms. Robson worked them into the story in a way that had me liking them and wanting their stories next.  The writing itself is flawless - flows easily and smoothly and at a good pace - not too fast but not too slow either.  It's a believable story that has characters that warm the heart and bless the soul.  Ms. Robson is an extremely talented author that captures the readers heart, mind and soul.  I found myself engaged in the story, wishing I was actually there.  I am very excited that she has started a new series and look forward to reading more from this lovely author.  (received copy for honest review)
