Ms. Collin's "His Blushing Bride" is a sweet romance that grabs the reader from the get-go! Piper, a high school music teacher, at times came off a bit stand-offish at the beginning, but as the reader gets to know her, we realize it's due to shyness and innocence and lack of self-esteem. Bastian, a houseguest at her parents' house, is confident, a bit cocky but overall, a loving guy. I enjoyed the interactions with other characters and seeing Bastian as the protective uncle. For me, this was a traditional romance - two strangers try to have a no-strings attached affair but the hearts involved have other ideas. I loved it! It was a bit predictable, as a traditional romance can be, but Ms. Collins keeps it fresh and fun. This is a light and airy read perfect for the beach or your lunch break!
